Duluth East

2016-2017 Record: 18-9-1

The Greyhounds return the vast majority of a team that fell in double-overtime to eventual state champion Grand Rapids in the Section 7AA finals, and the Hounds’ Independent schedule will enable them to load up on quality opponents during the regular season as they typically do.

Senior forwards Garrett Worth (21-13-34) and Ian Mageau (9-28-37) enter the final stanzas of their decorated high school careers, and junior forward and North Dakota commit Ryder Donovan (11-22-33) adds another element of attack for the offense.

Senior defenseman Luke LaMaster (6-10-16) helms the defensive core along with fellow senior Will Fisher (1-6-7). Both listed at 6-foot-1, LaMaster and Fisher provide size on the backend for the Hounds.

Keep an eye on junior forward Ricky Lyle and senior forward Austin Jouppi, who recorded 14 and 16 points respectively in this fall’s Elite League, along with goaltender Lukan Hanson. Hanson played in 15 games for Team North of the Elite League.

Garrett Worth scores for Duluth East in last season's loss to Grand Rapids in the Section 7AA finals.
