Bruins score early and often to knock off Team MN
Team MN fell short Friday losing 6-2 to the Boston Jr. Bruins. It just wasn't their day in Edmonton, late in the first Chris Delaney got one past Jacob Fowler shorthanded and scored to make it 1-0 after 1.
Early in the second, while on the Power Play, big defenseman Brady Berard scored on a shot from the point to give the B's a 2-0 lead. The turning point in the game came late in the second when Team Minnesota's Jackson Anderson got called for a five minute major and Nick Mikan was called for Holding 25 seconds later.
To start the third, Boston cashed in scoring two goals, one by Berard and the other by Boston speedster Frankie Dancona to make to 4-0. The two teams would trade a pair of goals, Aaron Schwartz and Anderson had the tallies for Minnesota. Anderson's goal came after a stick handling exhibition from the point into the slot where he eventually went top shelf to beat Brendan Flanagan.
The Bruins advance to the Final six where they will take on the number 2 or 3 seed from Division 2. Look for Boston to make a deep run into the Brick this weekend.
