Pictures and a taste of the event last weekend

And the winner is...

Once again Red Bull Crashed Ice made its way to Minnesota and from the top of the Cathedral steps overlooking the great city of St. Paul. we saw tons of great action as some of the best skaters from around the world competed for the crown on the first stop of their tour. With many home grown athletes like Minnesota favorite Cameron Naasz of Lakeville and the Bergerson brothers of Red Wing this was a truly exciting event.

The crowds swelled to an estimated 140,000 people once again breaking a previous attendance record in anticipation of the fast paced action the was to ensue as the racers made their way down the track at speeds of up to 40 mph through the hairpin turns and over the jumps, and waves in the track, bumping and fighting for the lead. The finals were sure to be exciting.

First up were the women with the final results being Salla Kyhala of Finland coming in first and Tamara Kajah of Canada taking second and Jacqueline Legere of Canada rounding out the top three women. The crowd turned their attention to the men's final. With all eyes on the track, two locals made up half of the racers in the final event. Cameron Naasz of Lakeville and Dan Witty of New Prague. However there were two Canadians Dean Moriarity and Kyle Croxall who has won the St. Paul event three out of the last four years. The race was on with a misstep in a corner, Cameron fell behind and just not able to get back in it and once again Kyle Croxall was on top of the podium as the winner with Dean Moriarity in second and Dan Witty taking third.
