Minnetonka's Charlie Glockner leads the list of 15 Netminders for Top MN Goalie

Finding the Goalie of the Year is a tall task. Our YHH staff sees over 500 games a year. We see kids at all levels. Different than a Player of the Year award that tends to focus on A and AA players, our Goalie of the Year award is open to a player at any level. Our criteria is simple...was this player the best player on the team, did the player win games they didn't deserve, and possibly the most difficult is did YHH ever see the Goalie play.

We saw a lot of goalies. Some big, some small...some quick, some tall. We saw shootout heroics, we saw a kid make 64 saves in a Regional game, and one lead his team to a state title.

Unfortunately, we never saw a goalie stand on his head or her ear.

Disclaimer: Sort of like a good goalie we fully admit that this list is far from perfect, and every once in a while we don't see every goalie and a great goalie or two may have been overlooked. This list is simply a list of who we saw and played out of this world when we saw them.

Mahtomedi's Ben Dardis makes a habit of making spectacular saves.

Kiron Morioka makes a save for the Storm in their win in the Lumberjack Cup in Stillwater.

Landyn James, Alexandria - in only his second year as a Goalie, James makes the list. An incredible feat considering it was his first year at the A level. James was outstanding for the Cards in the State Tournament leading them to a third place finish and a spot on our All Tournament team.

Kiron Morioka, Minneapolis - One of the most entertaining Goalies we saw all year long. Extremely gifted feet and hands, will only improve as he learns the position. Morioka returned to Minneapolis after a stint in Toronto and was huge reason for the Storm's success this season.

Carsen Stokes, Prior Lake - Stokes lead the Lakers to the State Championship this year. Leading the Lakers on a late season run that included two big wins over Edina, Rosemount and eventually a win over St. Cloud in the Semifinals and Minneapolis in the Championship. Stokes is a technician in the pipes who can routinely faced and stopped over 30 shots per game. Stokes was also a Goalie of the Year Finalist last year for the Lakers.

Carson Limesand for Orono stops St. Paul at the doorstep in the Founder's Cup Final.

Cade Kujawski comes up with a point blank save for the Lakers.

Carter Krier, Moorhead - by our records, Krier is the only undefeated goalie on our list. He and Goalie partner Lance Leonard combined for 20 shutouts this season as the Spuds only lost two games all season. A smaller goalie who takes up a lot of space with great footwork and confident angles, Krier was dynamite for the Spuds getting two wins in the state tourney, one over OMG and the other over Centennial.

Cade Kujawski, Prior Lake - Potentially the best Goalie in the state, maybe the country...Kujawski was having a great season for the Lakers until a mid-season car accident ended his campaign. A Goalie of the Year Finalist last year, Kujawski has the tools to be another one of the state's top Goalies in the future.

Zach Stejskal, Grand Rapids - Last year's Goalie of the year, Stejskal and batterymate Gabe Holum held down the fort this year for the ThunderHawks. Stejskal had a 93% save percentage and allowed under 1.8 Goals per game. Stejskal is a big goalie that has the ability to change a game with saves that are even bigger than his body. Division I Coaches love what they see in this Freshman at GR.
