Parkek Kleven with a diving save for D11. The Duluth Goalie had a shutout Saturday.

D6 outlasts District 12, wins 5-3.

D12's Blake McLaughlin had a big day Saturday

Game 1: District 6 > District 12 (5-3)

District 6 used a balanced attack to slip past District 12. Five different players scored for District 6, with Bjorn Swanson (Edina BAA), Ben Brinkman (Edina BAA), Bennet Hawley (Blake), Josh Luedtke (Minnetonka BAA), and Jack Lagerstrom (Shattuck-St. Mary’s) tallying the scoresheet. 2014 Wiz Wyatt Player of the Year Brinkman tallied a beauty as he jumped the play with confidence and scored.

The star of the day was Blake McLaughlin (Grand Rapids BAA), he scored twice for District 12. Alex Seppala (Hibbing BA) scored District 12’s other goal. McLaughlin had a pretty spin move and scored late in the game. To which one scout exclaimed, "wow!"

D3 and D15 skate to a tie.

Game 2: District 3 - District 15 (2-2)

A pair of evenly matched teams skated to a 2-2 tie, with two different players scoring for both teams. Jack Bridgeman (Minneapolis BAA) and Ryan Brandt (Osseo-Maple Grove BAA) scored for District 3, while Landon Overbo (Moorhead BAA) and Ben Doherty (Alexandria BA) did the scoring for District 15.

Skaters Overbo and Doherty really impressed Saturday for D15. Both are very talented and smart hockey players.

D2 goes 2-0 on HP Weekend with 5 goal win over D16

Game 3: District 2 > District 16 (5-0)

Joshua Long (Stillwater BAA) led District 2 with two goals in the rout over District 16. Luke Mountain (Shattuck-St. Mary’s Bantam) had a goal and an assist, and Jackson Wille (Forest Lake BAA) and Joseph Becker (Hill-Muraay JV) added goals for District 2.

Wille is now in the top ten scorers for the festival. This bull of a player is hard to knock off the puck.

Duluth East's Nick Lanigan notches an ENG for D11 in their 6-3 win.

District 11 takes it to District 8 Saturday winning 6-3

Sibley's Joey Gimberlin

Game 4: District 11 > District 8 (6-3)

In an another game that serves as a testament to the depth and overall talent of the High Performance Festival, nine players scored in this matchup. Jacob Herter (Hermantown BAA), Jonathan Baker (Cloquet BAA), Landon Langenbrunner (Cloquet BAA), Levi Satuber (Duluth-Marshall), and Ryder Donovan (Duluth East) all scored, while Nicholas Lanigan put on a clinic in the face-off circles, and added a goal for District 11. Joey Gimberlin (Sibley BAA), Payton Matsui (Sibley BAA) and Tyler Linnerooth (Rosemount BAA) notched goals for District 8.

Payton Madison tallies two to lead D5 to 4-1 win over D9

Game 5: District 5 > District 9 (4-1)

Two goals from District 5’s Payton Madison (River Lakes) led the way, while Zach Sjelin (St. Michael-Albertville BAA) and Garrett Freeman (Sartell BA) added goals for District 5. Defenseman Nikolai Jenson (River Lakes) didn’t score, but blocked several shots, and bulldozed over a defender on his way to assisting on Sjelin’s goal. Lucas Newman (Rochester BAA) scored the lone goal for District 9.

Payton Madison scores one of his two goals Saturday for D5

District 4 and 10 battle to 1-1 tie.

Minnesota Recruit Jaxon Nelson

Game 6: District 4 - District 10 (1-1)

On paper, this game doesn’t appear very exciting. But for those in attendance, the fast pace and numerous scoring chances by both teams was anything but dull.

New Gophers-commit Jaxon Nelson (Luverne HS) scored on a slapshot for District 4, and Jackson Perbix (Elk River BAA) ripped a snapshot in the second period to tie the game 1-1 for District 10.
