Hermantown's Elliott Peterson scores for the Devils Saturday

The Devils beat the Flyers 9-0 in the Bantam Elite League Saturday morning at Bloomington Ice Garden.  The Devils Landon Langenbrunner had a banner day scoring three goals and adding two assists to lead the Red and Black to the easy win over the red hot Flyers.

The Devils stormed to a 3-0 lead in the first half - Gavin Rasmussen beat Flyers Goalie Jacob Gathje on a breakaway to get the Devils started four minutes in. Langenbrunner would get his first of three a few minutes later on a tip in and the Devils were on cruise control after that.

The Devils were hungry the whole game, winning battles in the dirty areas and they had great goaltending from Hibbing's Ryan Ullan. Ullan made some great saves both point blank and on breakaways. Ullan ended the game with 21 saves and third shutout in seven starts.

Joe Daninger fights off a Stars attack Saturday

The Stars came to town with an even 3-3 record looking to gain some ground on the rest of the Metro teams in the Bantam Elite League. The Bruins came in 6-4 and in second place in the BEL...they feature the league's top scorer Jack Jensen who had five goals in two games earlier in the week.

The Stars controlled play in the first period peppering Bruins Goalie Joe Daninger with 30 shots - several point blank. Daninger coming off a lower body injury continues to impress as one of the league's top Goalies. Mason Kruse was able to beat Daninger as loose puck popped right on the Brainerd winger's stick and he flushed it home.

In the second half, Ben Helgeson showed why he is one of the league's star forwards. After an Ethan Frisch shot on goal, the puck bounced into the air and the Roseau native batted it out of the air into the net. Afterward, Helgeson admitted it could have been waived off. Up 2-0, three and half minutes later, Helgeson scored again. There was never a doubt this one counted as he snapped off a wrist shot that Bruin Goalie Bailey Huber never saw to make it 3-0.

The Bruins' Brendan McFadden would add a goal to complete the scoring at 3-1. The Stars up their record to 4-3 and the Bruins fell to 6-5.
