The Flyers beat the Wild 8-1 Wednesday night in the Bantam Elite League at Bloomington Ice Garden. After losing two straight games to the North this past weekend, the Flyers looked to rebound Wednesday against the Wild. They came out out of the gates quick, scoring three goals in the first five minutes of the game setting the tone early for the Orange and Black.

Nate Zawoyski got a pretty feed from Matt Gleason and the Edina native shelfed one past Evan Foss for the early lead. Jett Jungels slipped past the porous Wild D and beat Foss with the backhand and within 33 seconds it was 2-0. And a few minutes later Nate Warner made it 3-0 on a wrister and the route was on.

Jungels would add another goal and Gleason would add three more assists to lead the Flyers to a big win on the Olympic sheet at BIG. The Flyers improved their record to 6-6 on the season and still have a shot of being a 2 or 3 seed in the BEL playoffs in two weeks.

The Bolts beat the Penguins 5-4 Wednesday night in the Bantam Elite League at Bloomington Ice Garden. It was the most exciting of the three games the league featured by far. The intensity of the game was high and as a result the action was great for the scouts and fans.

The Bolts took a 3-1 lead in the first half and extended to 4-1 early in the second half on a Robert Christy goal and the game appeared to be headed to Routeville. But Danny Magnuson scored two goals for the Pens 90 seconds apart and the thoughts of a blowout were gone. The final 18 minutes was a high flying affair. Both teams having great chances, but both goalies (Jon Howe, Pens and Will Johnson, Bolts) stood tall making big saves down the stretch.

After taking two penalties in the final two minutes, Pens Coach Brian Murphy called a time out to set up the six on three power play. After a flurry on Johnson, Centennial's Will Francis scored on a clearing attempt to make it 5-3. The Pens weren't done, Rob Klein scored 19 seconds later to make it 5-4. But they weren't able to get the tying goal and the Lightning hung on for the W.
