Scorers make their mark on third day of competition.

YHH saw some serious talent on the ice at all levels this weekend, primarily on the offensive side in prodigious goal-scorers and fantastic puck movement leading to some impressive scores in all divisions.

However, the teams competing in the semifinals and finals on Sunday will need defense and goaltending to be strong if they want to take home the hardware. Stay tuned for full coverage on Championship Sunday.

Pool Play

Finlandia Hockey Club 3, Magicians Red 1

Three players scored for FHC, with Travis Hensrud, Nikolas Campbell and Brock Tipple marking the scoresheet. Jack Novak scored the lone goal for Magicians Red. 

Skate to Excellence 7, Ice Hawks 6

STE raced out to a 4-0 lead, and held on for a 7-6 win thanks to a Hatty by A.J. LeMire. Jack Bergstrom scored twice for STE, followed by Max Hamstad and Matt Clough scoring one goal each. Dominic Hix led the Ice Hawks with a Hatty, with Jayce Schauer and Matthew Zaruba each scoring a goal with one score unattributed. 

Pro Ambitions 4, Colorado Kodiaks

Luke Stevens scored twice to lead Pro Ambitions to the shutout victory over the Kodiaks. True Crowe and Nathan Cote also chipped in goals for Pro Ambitions.

Pool Play

Magicians Red 4, Ice Hawks 3

Dalton Spratt led Magicians Red to victory with two goals, followed by Joseph Carnevale and Alex Bump with one goal each. Jax Schauer scored twice for the Ice Hawks and Colin Duerkop added a goal in the loss. 

Gradient AAA 7, Colorado Kodiaks 3

Chaz Lucias notched the Texas Hatty for Gradient, scoring the first four goals of the game and adding the last goal for a total of five scores. Jack Harvey and Jack Peart scored one goal each for Gradient AAA. Eli Hunt, Marc Lund and Kevin Enriquez scored for the Kodiaks. 

New Generation 6, MN Mavericks 1

Austin Stoneking and Patrick Gallagher each scored twice to lead New Generation to the win. Griffin Ludtke and Davis Royle also scored for New Generation. Owen Van Tassel scored the lone goal for the Mavericks. 

Thunder Bay Bandits 5, Tommy Chicago Green 2

Thunder Bay scored four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead over Tommy Chicago Green and never looked back en route to a 5-2 victory. Five players scored for Thunder Bay, with Braeden Duchense, Logan Stacknick, Sam Garon, Shaymus Stevenson and Michael Sheare lighting the lamp. Nate Messerich and Luke Candon scored for Tommy Chicago Green. 

Semifinals

Colorado Kodiaks 7, New Generation 4

Carter Batchelder scored the Texas Hatty to propel the Kodiaks into the championship with a 7-4 win over New Generation. Hunter Cooke, Marc Lund and Rowan Picaro also scored for the Kodiaks. Joe Guentzel scored twice for New Generation, with Davis Royle and Carson Peterson chipping in a goal apiece. 

Gradient AAA 8, Thunder Bay Bandits 0

Chaz Lucius continued his torrid play, scoring four goals for the Texas Hatty in the semifinals. Jack Peart scored two goals, and Jack Harvey and Cruz Lucius also scored for Gradient.

Kash Kindgren goes 5-hole for the Euros Saturday

Pool Play 

Hometown Hockey 3, Red Army 3

Carter Ashworth and Turner Richards scored in the third period to secure the tie for Hometown Hockey, erasing a 3-1 deficit opened up by Red Army. Jacob Pierson opened the scoring for Hometown Hockey before Red Army got three goals from Caleb Schmiedeberg, Cameron Bullinger and Connor Litzinger to take the 3-1 lead in the second period. 

Tommy Chicago Green 4, Rapid Fire Black 0

Zander Billins scored twice, and Hunter Webster and Max Nagel added goals to lead Tommy Chicago green to the shutout victory. 

Euro American Red 8, Duluth East

Euro American Red cruised to victory over Duluth East behind a Hatty by Osseo-Maple Grove’s Josh Giuliani. 

Steeldogs 6, Colorado Kodiaks 3

Wiz Wyatt finalist Ty Tucitto led the Steeldogs to the win with a Hatty. 

Semifinals 

Hometown Hockey 4, Steeldogs 3 (OT)

Logan Seward scored the game-winner in overtime to send Hometown Hockey to the championship on Sunday. Turner Richards, Drew Pajunen and Jacob Pierson also chipped in goals for Hometown Hockey. Trey Gnetz scored two goals, and Tyler Bishop had one for the Steeldogs. 

Tommy Chicago Green 4, Euro American Red 3

Three players scored for Tommy Chicago Green, with  Zander Billins scoring twice and Cayden Campbell and Jayar Luedke scoring once each. Kash Kindgren, Casy Laylin and Parker Comstock scored one goal each for EAR.

Red Army 7, Colorado Kodiaks 4

Six players scored for Red Army, led by Noah Mehus with two goals. Zach Boren, Tanner Kronberg, Trevor Moe and Colten Nestler each scored once for Red Army. 

Hometown Hockey 5, Precision (IL) 4

Five players scored for Hometown Hockey in the win, with Brooks Cogswell, Brandon Reil, Jordan Ronn, Jack Loucks and Caden Martin all tickling the twine. Riley Babich scored two goals for Precision (IL), with Josh Genin and Ollie Nalepa adding one goal each.

Machine Black 4, Breakaway USA 2

Kaden Feltmann, Szilveszter Lippai, William Weidemann, and Ozzie Snodgrass all scored in the third period to earn the victory for Machine Black. Aidan Fontaine and Owen Buesgens scored for Breakaway USA. 

Machine Black 5, Colorado Kodiaks 2

Machine Black had its second game with all different goal scorers of the day, with Ozzie Snodgrass, Ben Tauscher, Logan Hensler, Luke Babineau, and Jackson Heichert all netting goals. Paul Pinnow and Reece Peterson scored for the Kodiaks. 

Hometown Hockey 6, Breakaway USA 4

Mason Gilmore scored twice for Hometown Hockey, the second coming in the third period with the score at 5-4 after Breakaway USA scored four unanswered goals to come within one of tying the game. Zac Triplett also scored two goals for Hometown, with Brent Soloman and Caleb Goar scoring one goal each. Beau Delich, David Baer, Ben Curtis and Griffin Newman all scored for Breakaway USA. 

Tommy Chicago Green 7, Hometown Hockey 2

Zachary Wooten scored four goals for Tommy Chicago Green to earn the Texas Hatty, with Jared Martin, Brayden Kaldenbach scoring once each. There was also an unattributed goal for TCG. Zac Triplett and Landon Stringfellow scored for Hometown Hockey. 

Colorado Kodiaks 4, Tommy Chicago Green 4

Reece Peterson scored two goals, and Paul Pinnow and Mitchel Olson scored in the tie for the Kodiaks. Danny Lachenmayer scored twice for Tommy Chicago Green, with Nolan Mickelson and Zachary Wooten adding one goal apiece.
