Deep Pool of Players Shine Saturday
Day four, and we’re drawing to a close of the NOW Prospects Major Division Combine.
At Stillwater’s LumberYard bright and early, players were on the ice, in the weight room and testing their shot velocity. All participants competed in sprints, pull-ups, shot power, stickhandling prowess and skating speed, both forwards and backwards. This measurable data will be published sometime after the combine, following the end of the three-on-three portion of the combine that ends on Sunday.
The boys battled their way through two games per each team for eight contests total, separated into afternoon and evening sessions.
In three-on-three, scores will always be high. That's not to discount the exceptional play of goaltenders and defenders, who have stood up admirably to the fast-paced action.
Speed testing for all teams Saturday...as part of a full Combine experience.

Players to Watch
David Nesburg, Maroon - is relentless to the puck, plays a little like Matt Gleason (great balance, speed).
Conner Nelson, Gold - rare that a goalie gets recognized in 3v3 hockey...but the Goalie of the Year finalist from Cottage Grove has had a great week.
Kade Nielsen, White - this kid has more than just good flow, he has a great game that seems to be improving all the time.
Landon Parker, Gray - has performed well for a newb to 3v3 hockey....you can take the boy out of the East side, but you can't take the high quality play of the East side out of the boy.
