Ryan McPartland's game-winner on Sunday
Miracle Gold scored five unanswered goals and then held on to edge the Steeldogs in Sunday's championship game.
Steeldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first few minutes of the game, getting goals from Ryan Madigan, Graham Greeder and Keaton Orrey. With 1:33 left in the first, Cayden Alphin broke the ice for Miracle Gold, making the score 3-1 heading into the second.
Miracle Gold started the second period with Stratton Maas pulling the boys in black within one at 3-2, then Ryan McPartland tied the game with a goal of his own. Maas scored to take the lead, then McPartland followed with an insurance goal.
Keaton Orrey scored his second goal of the game for Steeldogs near the end of the second period, making the score 5-4 in favor of Miracle Gold.
Jackson Rudh scored with 2:56 to play in regulation to tie the game 5-5, but McPartland wasn't finished with his magic, lifting a backhand shot past Tate Kelsey for the game-winner with just 1:01 to play in the game.
