Holy Family Catholic Takes Turkey Trot
Edina cruised to a 4-1 victory over Lake Conference rival Wayzata to claim third place in the Turkey Trot on Saturday night at the Plymouth Ice Center.
Senior forward and Colorado College commit Bram Scheerer scored twice for the Hornets, with Minnesota commits Sam Walker and Ben Brinkman added one goal each.
Griffin Ness scored the lone goal of the loss for Wayzata.
In the title game, Holy Family Catholic thumped Maple Grove 5-1, scoring the game's first three goals in the second period and adding two tallies in the third.
Patrick Reddan, Ben Almquist and Ethan Mesler scored for the Fire in the second period, and Peter Tabor and Nick Michel scored in the third.
For Maple Grove, Tyler Borsch scored the only goal.
