The Colorado Thunderbirds 16U AAA Tier I team is rolling to start the season.  They currently post a 9-1-1 record, with their only loss and a tie coming to out-of-state rival Omaha 16U AAA.  The team is on a collision course with fellow 16U AAA rival and winners of nine straight games, the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders (9-1). They will face off in a two game set this weekend to determine who will gain sole possession of first place.  The Thunderbirds also feature several key players, including Anoka, Minnesota native #81 Killian Kiecker Olson (3G, 5A).  Here are some key Thunderbirds players to watch going into this weekends matchup.

#17 George Cathers (7G, 3A) is tied for the team lead in goals with seven.  He started the season on fire, netting a hat trick (3G, 1A) in their first win and has posted at least one point in seven of their eleven games.
