Jonny Meiers, Bruins
Jonathan Peine, Sharks
The Bantam Elite League had an eventful weekend of hockey in Bemidji last weekend - the Bruins won all four games and claimed first place heading into their final game next Saturday in Richfield. A well-coached team that patched together substitute forwards on the blue line each game and found a way to win against the state’s best.
All six teams had some memorable highlights and performances. North Stars goaltender Konrad Kausch allowed three goals on 50 shots as the northern boys went 2-1-1 on home ice.
Great Plains went 1-3 on the weekend avenging a loss to the Hawks winning 8-3, Justin Janice had a big game for the black and tan. We had four repeat offenders this week on the All-Weekend Team.
Hobie Hedquist, Kyle Kukkonen, Chaz Lucius and Joe Miller had stellar weekends again. Hedquist continues to catch the eye of every scout in the building with his size and athleticism. Kukkonen, Lucius and Miller combine raw skill and very high hockey acumen on every shift.
Here is this week’s team and a couple pictures.
