A pair of games wrapped up the inaugural Western States Invitational on Sunday morning at Blooington Ice Garden, as the Dallas Stars Elite and Rink Hockey Academy skated to wins over the Colorado Thunderbirds and Anaheim Jr. Ducks respectively.

Dallas ended the showcase on the high note, holding off a late charge by Colorado to earn its first win of the weekend. The Stars jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one period of play, as Jared Weisert, Copeland Fricker and Hayden Cox all tallied goals. Ryan Kelly scored the lone goal of the period for the Thunderbirds.

Kelly netted his second goal of the game for the Thunderbirds early in the second frame before Dallas' Fricker answered with his own second score. Evan Pahos pulled Colorado within one with an unassisted tally midway through the second, but the Stars squelched the comeback attempt.

Rink Hockey Academy cruised to its fourth win of the weekend, avenging Saturday night's loss to Great Plains with a 7-0 win over Anaheim. Seven players scored for RHA, with Michael Svenson leading the way with a goal and three assists.

RHA's Owen Weihs was named co-Most Valuable Player of the showcase, racking up four goals and eight points in five games.
