Bryce Wiitala powers Skippers with three goals

Ben Ferguson made this pretty save for Tonka

Two top ten Squirt teams squared off in a District 6 battle Monday at Bloomington Ice Garden.  Number six Jefferson hosted number five Minnetonka in will likely not be the only time the teams face each other this year.

The Skippers jumped out to an early 3-1 lead, powered by Bryce Wiitala's first two of three goals. One on a rebound and another on a backhand breakaway goal. Wiitala put the game out of reach early in the second period when he beat Jeffferson's Matthew Perreault with a wrist shot. After two, the Skippers lead 6-2.

In the third period, with Jaguars on the attack. Tonka got a big save by Ben Ferguson and minutes later Ryan Bonthius punched home a rebound goal to make the score 7-2. The Skippers would go on to win 8-3.

Jefferson's Wil Dosan had two goals Monday night

Players to Watch

Rowan Vaughn, Minnetonka

Will Dosan, Jefferson - has great power and speed. Finished the night with two goals for the Jags.

Henry Lechner, Jefferson - had a goal and was very active on both ends of the rink on Monday.

Rowan Vaughn, Minnetonka - has great speed, played hard on all sides of the ice. Made several great defensive plays thwarting the Jaguars of time and space.

Bryce Wiitala, Minnetonka - an offensive weapon for Tonka...very dangerous player inside the hashmarks.
