Chaska/Chanhassen made the most of its drive to Minnetonka's Pagel Activity Center on Wednesday night, scoring three times in the first period en route to a 4-1 win over the Skippers.

Blake Markwell, Gracyn Sawchyn, and Javon Moore tallied the first three goals of the game for the Stormhawks, while Daniel Block played distribution specialist with a pair of assists in the opening period.

Minnetonka firmed up its defense over the next two frames, holding the Stormhawks scoreless in the second and coming within two goals on tying the game after Drew Stewart broke the ice early in the third period.

Sam Scheetz iced the game for the Stormhawks midway through the third, beating Minnetonka goaltender Jonah Spaeth low on his blocker side on a shot from the slot for the Stormhawks' fourth goal of the game.

Spaeth finished with 26 impressive saves for the Skippers, while Carter Wishart stopped 23 of 24 shots for the Stormhawks.

BAA: Minnetonka 3, Chaska/Chanhassen 3

For several minutes, it appeared as if Chaska/Chanhassen was going to run away with Wednesday night's game against Minnetonka.

Jimmy Snuggerud blasted a slap shot from the neutral zone that somehow found the net, and firmly planted the momentum on the side of the Stormhawks, as Snuggerud's goal gave his team a 1-0 lead with just four-tenths of a second left in the first period.

Minnetonka would answer with a goal by Hunter Newhouse early in the second period, a tally that elicited a swift response from Chaska/Chanhassen. Zach Seltun and Bennett Jax notched goals to give the Stormhawks a 3-1 lead.

The Stormhawks' advantage would soon dissipate, however, as Newhouse netted his second goal and Duke Kiffin adding a score to tie the game at its final of 3-3.

Bennett Jax scores for Chaska/Chanhassen in the Stomrhawks' 3-3 tie with Minnetonka on Wednesday night.
