Wayzata's Tristan Nelko jumps for joy after his goal Saturday

Big Day in the State of Hockey

There are a few days in Minnesota that have so many great games with so much meaning. The journey for boys high school teams got serious with 22 teams moving a step closer to the state tournament. There were six games postponed due to inclement weather Saturday (1AA, 5A, and 7AA).

Two top seeds fell Saturday. Warroad fell to Thief River on home ice....and Albert Lea had their dreams dashed in Rochester, falling to Rochester Lourdes in OT. No. 5AA Cretin-Derham Hall was a two seed that lost to Wayzata by a whisker.

Saturday Stars

Trevor Wong stopped 13 Cretin-Derham Hall shots in the third period Saturday
