For the second time in as many days, the Stillwater PWAA team went to overtime searching for a victory. Unfortunately for the Ponies, Friday’s thrilling win over Chaska/Chanhassen would not be repeated, as the Hermantown Hawks netted the game-winner early in the extra session.

Joining the Hawks in the state championship will be Woodbury, which stormed past Moorhead after exploding for four goals in the third period of a 7-3 win over the Spuds. Jake Fisher netted a hat-trick for the Predators, who also got two goals from Tanner Nolnosky. Ty Henricks and Brady Ingebritson each scored once in the win, while Simon Houge and Kevin Joyce each handed out a pair of assists.

After a bumpy start, Sartell found its legs in the second and third periods, eventually dispatching Alexandria 5-3 to earn a place in the PWA state title game. Ethan Testa led the way with two goals and an assist for the Sabres, while Casey Hansen equaled Testa’s three-point day with a goal and two assists. Additional goals went to Tory Lund and Jack Schmitz. Tyler Kludt, Gavin Olson, and Brayden Berg each scored once in the loss for the Cardinals.
