Can anyone be a scorer?

Yes, all you need to do is supply us with your First and Last name and a valid email address to begin entering scores. NOTE: Please be sure to check the “scores” tab of every team you score for prior to entering scores to avoid duplication.

What Constitutes a Game versus a Scrimmage?

YHH considers any contest that has a scoresheet, officials, mutually agreed upon period length, penalties, time clock and score being kept on a score board as a Game.  Anything less than those parameters is a Scrimmage and should not be posted to our Database

Why aren’t teams from Out of State in your Database and Ranking System?

Our Now Rankings™ formula is built exclusively for teams that will play a minimum of 20 games against other teams in Minnesota.  Because our formula is based in winning percentages of your opponents and their opponents, we have found that including Out of State teams hurts Minnesota teams profoundly more than it helps.

Why Don’t you count shoot out wins as wins?

It is the standard method of youth hockey measurement to not count Shoot Out wins as victories, rather ties.  OT wins are counted as wins in our database.

What is your formula for ranking teams?

Our Now Rankings™ system is a combination of a team’s winning percentage, their opponent’s winning percentage, their opponent’s opponents winning percentage, average goals differential, and how recent the games were played (i.e. games in October weigh less in February than the games played in February).

What About AA and A Teams?

In Bantam and PeeWee A level there are two separate distinctions by High School size.  About a third of the associations carry a AA team and a single A team.  The AA teams are classified as the name of the association (e.g. Eden Prairie) and the A team is clearly classified as Eden Prairie “A”.

Do you count scores for B2 or C teams?

No. The YHH rankings only accounts for AA/A and B1 teams.  Please don’t add scores for an association’s B2 team or games played against B2 teams.

What if I notice an error in the scores?

If you see an error in any team’s scoring, please report it to YHH as soon as possible…scores@youthhockeyhub.com.  Please note: IT MAY TAKE UP TO 1 WEEK TO TO PROCESS AN ERROR REQUEST (sometimes sooner).
