Stillwater at Hill-Murray (Nov. 11, 7:00 PM)

Josie St. Martin, Stillwater

What will the Ponies be like after last year's head coach Mira Jalosuo moved on to be an assistant coach at St. Cloud State? As pointed out in YHH's 2022-23 Girls High School Season Preview episode of Her Ice last week, Annie Cashman inherits a squad that has high expectations.

Stillwater's attack is led by a trio of juniors in Josie St. Martin (Ohio State commit), Myah Krueger, and Addy Finn (Boston University commit), who give the Ponies plenty of scoring punch. Junior defense Josie Lang (Providence commit) and senior Kylie Ligday will be busy trying to limit the Pioneers' scoring chances. Between the pipes, junior Lily Timmons will be the go-to option for Stillwater.

Hill-Murray is also no stranger to high expectations. Offensively, the Pioneers are led by last year's leading scorer, junior Chloe Boreen. Seniors Shae Stinnett and Jessica Dochniak provide supplemental scoring, and freshman Ella Hornung could blossom while playing a more prominent role.

On defense, senior Ellah Hause (St. Thomas commit) will be tasked with shutting down Stillwater's dynamic attack. In the crease, junior Grace Zhan (Dartmouth commit) split time last year but will be likely to carry most of the goaltending duties.
