Another intriguing Class AA matchup between south metro stalwart Lakeville North and outstate power Moorhead. 

Up front, the Panthers will lean on junior Gracie Hanson to shoulder most of the offensive load. Junior defender Ashley Wagenbach and sophomore Alexa Ruppert will log many minutes and be tasked with limiting scoring chances. At goaltender, eighth-grader Kaia Weiland had a promising first varsity season last year, and they hope she can build from that experience. Weiland will likely split time this season with Burnsville transfer Addison Oettinger, who impressed as the Blaze's starter last year. 

Moorhead lost a heartbreaker to Brainerd/Little Falls last year in the Section 8AA final, and they bring back a team with a lot of experience. At forward, seniors Bria Holm and Olivia Dronen (Bemidji State commit), junior Ella Holm, and sophomore Olivia Kortan give the Spuds plenty of firepower up front.

At defense, junior Kate Kosobud is Moorhead's workhorse on the back end. Sophomore goaltender Taylor Kressin will be the Spuds' probable starter for this game.
