Holy Family at Lakeville South (Nov. 29, 7:00 PM)

Maddy Helmstetter, Holy Family

This should be an intriguing clash between two south metro Class AA schools.

Holy Family is coming off a 5-1 victory over Shakopee. They should be well-rested as they haven't played a game since November 17th. The Fire is led at forward by seniors Taylor Koeppel (Saint Anselm commit), Grayson Limke (Sacred Heart commit), and Maddy Helmstetter (Saint Thomas commit). Freshman Haley Box (3 goals, 3 assists, 6 points) and sophomore Josie Linn (0-4-4) show much promise.

On defense, Holy Family looks to seniors Ella Knewtson (Long Island University commit) and Justina Valentini (1-2-3) to provide poise and experience. At goaltender, senior Sedona Blair (New Hampshire commit) is one of the best in the state.

Lakeville South hopes to build momentum after a 3-2 victory over Section 1AA rival Farmington. The Cougars' attack is led by senior forwards Hana Fowler (2-1-3) and Theresa Soltys (3-0-3), as well as sophomore Josie Grossman (0-3-3). On defense, juniors Nicole McKinney (0-2-2) and Lily Hunst (1-0-1) will face their best early test of the season in trying to limit Holy Family's scoring chances. At goaltender, junior Claire Bronson (1.51 goals against average) will likely get the start against the Fire.
