Dodge County at South St. Paul (Nov. 29, 7:00 PM)

Lily Pachl, South St. Paul

This should be an intriguing clash of Class A schools as (1A) Dodge County makes its way north to Doug Woog Arena to play (4A) South St. Paul.

The undefeated Wildcats are coming off a 6-0 victory over Waconia on Saturday. At forward, sophomores Mollie Koch (5-7-12) and Nora Carstensen (4-5-9), as well as eighth-grader Maysie Koch (4-7-11), are off to a torrid start offensively for the Wildcats. On defense, junior Abby Simons (4-5-9) and freshman Kylie Meyer (0-3-3) help Dodge County transition from defense to offense efficiently. At goaltender, sophomore Ida Huber (.927 save percentage) has had all of Dodge County's starts this season.

For those that thought the graduation of Minnesota State-bound defense Lily Ramirez would bring about the demise of South St. Paul, in the words of college football coach Lee Corso, not so fast, my friends. The Packers are coming off a 2-1 victory over Mound-Westonka.

South St. Paul's attack is led by forwards; senior Sarah Winscentsen (2-4-6) and sophomore Bailey Vesper (4-3-7), and eighth-grader Paige Johnson (1-2-3) are developing better chemistry each game. On defense, sophomore Lily Pachl (4-6-10) and senior Kylie Evazich (0-2-2) complement each other well as they log big minutes for the Packers. At goaltender, senior Delaney Norman has three shutouts already this season.
