Edina at Hill-Murray (Dec. 1, 7:00 PM)

Ellie Chapman, Edina

Two of Minnesota hockey's "blue bloods" clash in what should be a terrific game at Aldrich Arena.

The Hornets are coming off a quality 6-2 victory over a pesky Rogers squad. At forward, senior Ellie Chapman (1-5-6) and junior Hannah Halverson (Wisconsin commit) provide leadership and experience to one of the most battle-tested teams in the state. But it may surprise you to know that freshmen Lorelai Nelson (3-4-7) and Cate McCoy (4-1-5), as well as sophomore Whitney Horton (3-3-6), lead Edina in goal-scoring so far this season.

On defense, senior Sami Hankinson (1-1-2) and sophomore Tori Anderson (1-3-4) will do what they can to keep Edina on the attack. At goaltender, senior Uma Corniea (Princeton commit) has been a rock for Edina for years.

The Pioneers are coming off a convincing 6-1 victory over North Wright County last week. Hill-Murray is led at forward by junior Chloe Boreen (1-4-5), as well as seniors Jessica Dochniak (1-2-3) and Shae Stinnett (3-0-3), who provide veteran experience. Seventh grader Emily Pohl (2-1-3) is a rising star in that program.

On defense, sophomore Josie Skoogman (2-1-3) and junior Ella Topp (0-2-2) provide stability for the Pioneers in their zone. At goaltender, junior Grace Zhan (Dartmouth commit) has been stellar so far for Hill-Murray.
