Detroit Lakes at East Grand Forks (Nov. 29, 7:30 PM)

Brock Schultz, East Grand Forks

It's a great Section 8A showdown between two clubs hoping to make a case they can challenge incumbent section leader Warroad.

Detroit Lakes is coming off a 4-0 victory over Fergus Falls. The Lakers' forward corps is led by seniors Cole Larson (1-1-2), Aiden Kennedy (1-0-1), and Carter Bellefeuille (0-1-1).

On the blueline, the Lakers will lean on senior Jack Turner (1-0-1) along with sophomores Jace Fields (0-2-2) and Tommy Suckert (1-0-1) to chip in at both ends of the ice.

Senior Josh Mack had a shutout in Detroit Lakes' win over the Otters.

East Grand Forks is coming off a 5-2 victory over a quality Delano / Rockford squad. The Green Wave will be without the services of last year's leading scorer Jaksen Panzer who decided to stay and play with Sioux Falls (USHL) instead.

Juniors Brock Schultz (1-2-3) and Landon Jamieson (1-1-2), as well as sophomore Jace Van Eps (2-0-2), will carry East Grand Forks offensively.

On defense, junior Grady Magner (1-1-2) and senior Sam Frost (0-2-2) provide leadership and experience on the Green Wave's back end, but they must be better about deciding when to join the attack as it came back to bite them against Gentry Academy.

East Grand Forks has split starts at goaltender between juniors Lucas Wavra and Chase Mero this season.
