OMG runs off a nice five game string of wins to claim the Spirit of Duluth this past weekend. They beat Edina, who beat Moorhead. The Spuds snap a nine tournament winning streak dating back to the fall of 2021.  Hermantown has a great weekend in Duluth, they slide into the top-10.

Commentary

District 3 will be very fun to follow all season; this past week we saw the top two teams in the state face off. Delano and Armstrong-Cooper played to see who would take the top spot in our rankings; Delano prevailed 3-1. The Tigers have not lost to an "A" team all year and are the state champion favorites as of now. There was no movement in the rest of the rankings other than the top two teams swapping places with that result.

Shoutout to number ten Northern Lakes for winning a tournament in Thief River Falls this past weekend

Commentary

Edina (White) is on fire, with a current eleven-game win streak; they get bumped up to number one. Prior Lake has lost one game all season, and it was by one goal. They get bumped up two spots to number three.

Lakeville goes from unranked to number four in one week; the Cougars beat previous number one Duluth East. Armstrong Cooper is the best team in District 3; they finally get noticed and are ranked 10th for now.

Commentary

Roseville defended their number one ranking by notching a victory over number two Woodbury. Mound Westonka is on an eight-game winning streak; they get out at number five after not being ranked last week. Minneapolis is just outside the rankings, but watch out for them—a huge win over number six, Osseo/Maple Grove.

Moorhead (Black) is new to the rankings this week, and the Spuds are outscoring their opponents 78 to 17.

Commentary

Still super early and very little data. We do know that Woodbury and Andover have beaten some good teams in early season tournaments.

We don't know how good the super powers like Edina, Moorhead, Minnetonka and OMG are yet.

We do see some nice results out of Austin. The Packers 11-1-1 record is no fluke.

Commentary

A lot of teams from the 218 made the first top-10 in Squirt B. Number one Duluth has nine wins with an average goal differential of 6.33. Number five Pine City and number six Greenway (Green) played this past week, with Pine City winning in a shootout 8-7. Watch out for the metro teams to take a more prominent role in this top ten once we get more data.
