Little Falls at Alexandria (Dec. 7, 7:15 PM)

Matt Filippi, Little Falls

Here is an intriguing Central Lakes conference battle between two Class A teams that like to light the other one up. The home team has typically fared better in these games. Will that hold true again at Runestone Arena?

The Flyers are coming off a 4-2 loss to Orono last Friday. Little Falls is led by senior Matt Filippi (zero goals, three assists, three points), junior Carter Oothoudt (1-0-1), and sophomores Joey Welinski (2-0-2) and Ryan Oothoudt (0-1-1).

On defense, seniors Coltin Johnson (1-1-2) and Matt Cooper lead a young defense corps.

In between the pipes, senior goaltender Richie Varriano (.889 save percentage) has made all of the starts for Little Falls this season.

Alexandria is also still reeling a bit from its own 8-5 loss to Orono on Saturday and hopes to rebound against the Flyers. Senior forwards Nick Peterson (3-2-5), Keegan Lucy (2-1-3), and Tyler Kludt (2-1-3) lead the Cardinals' attack. Alexandria's power play has gotten off to a hot start, converting at a 40% rate.

On defense, juniors Gage Castle (0-1-1) and Jack Lamski (0-1-1) log a lot of minutes for Alexandria. The Cardinals will want to avoid the penalty box, as their 50% penalty kill has been a reason Alexandria is winless at this point in the season.

Senior goaltender Elijah Rasmussen (.806 save percentage) is hoping he can shut down the Flyers.
