Hill-Murray at Wayzata (Dec. 8, 7:00 PM)

Ben Miller, Hill-Murray

Here is a great clash of two solid Class AA powerhouses as the Pioneers face off against the Trojans. Which team will reign supreme?

The Pioneers are coming off a hard-fought 3-1 loss to defending Class A champion Hermantown on Saturday. Hill-Murray looks to its forwards, including senior Caden Sampair (0-1-1) and juniors Ben Miller (0-1-1) and Jude Bonin (1-0-1), to lead the way.

Overall, the Pioneers are a young team building itself around sophomores like Boden Sampair (0-1-1) and Cullen Ingebritson (0-1-1), and so far, getting Hill-Murray's offense going has been a work in progress.

Senior Graham Greeder (1-0-1) and junior Seth Klepac are critical components of a smaller, mobile defense corps on the blueline.

At goaltender, senior Jack Erickson (.933 save percentage) is one of the best at his position in the state.

The No. 3 Wayzata Trojans are off to a fast start and buzzing from the momentum of a 4-1 victory over Duluth East on Saturday.

Wayzata's offense is showing more dazzle than what you normally see from them. They are led at forward by juniors Jake Mattson (3-3-6) and Luke Miller (0-3-3), as well as senior Jibber Kuhl (4-0-4). Freshman Jacob Kvasnicka (2-4-6) looks like a rising star.

On defense, the Trojans also show a bit more flash than you've come to expect, with puck-moving sophomore Finn De St. Hubert working along with stay-at-home defensemen like senior Kasen Sauer (0-2-2) and junior Jack Hartle (0-1-1).

Senior goaltender Will Ingemann (.951 save percentage) has been a rock of stability for Wayzata for the last two seasons.
