Moose Lake Area at Two Rivers/St. Paul (Dec. 6, 7:30 PM)

Megan Hattenberger, Moose Lake

This is an intriguing game between Section 7A Moose Lake Area and Section 4A Two Rivers/St. Paul pitting the Rebels against the Riveters.

The Rebels are hoping to build momentum off a 5-1 victory over North Shore. Moose Lake Area is led at forward by sophomore Sandra Ribich (5-7-12), as well as juniors Megan Hattenberger (3-7-10) and Gracie Hartl (2-7-9), which carry the majority of the scoring for the Rebels. They are an experienced team, as most have been playing varsity hockey since their 7th and 8th-grade years.

On defense, sophomore Hallie Klavu (3-1-4) and junior Lily Kahara (1-1-2) play a prominent role at both ends of the ice for Moose Lake Area. The Rebels' penalty kill is a perfect 15-for-15 so far this season.

At goaltender, sophomore Mallory Hartl (.953 save percentage) is off to a fantastic start this season.

Two Rivers / St. Paul is coming off a 4-2 victory over Visitation last Tuesday.

The Riveters' offense is driven by forwards in juniors Ella Johnson (3-5-8), Evie Daly (3-3-6), and Kate Reubish (2-4-6). Two Rivers/St. Paul's power play is clicking along at 18.2%, but there are signs it may get a boost as the Riveters are showing improved offensive chemistry with each game.

On defense, junior Lilly Leitner (0-3-3) and senior Josie Daly (2-0-2) provide poise and experience to the Riveters' defense corps. One message from the coaching staff will be to stay out of the penalty box as the Riveters hope to hide their 28.6% penalty kill.

Two Rivers / St. Paul have utilized a rotation at goaltender between freshmen Katelyn Galeazzi (1-1 record) and Lucy Bradford (2-0 record) this season.
