Moorhead at Warroad (Dec. 22, 6:00 PM)

Kate Kosobud, Moorhead

Moorhead is coming off a dramatic 4-3 overtime win against Holy Family. The Spuds' forward group is led by senior Bria Holm (6-5-11), junior Taylor Brueske (7-8-15), and sophomore Olivia Kortan (5-8-13). Moorhead's power play has been effective, finding the back of the net at a 28.1% rate.

On defense, seniors Olivia Dronen (4-9-13) and Ellie Feeney (1-4-5), as well as junior Kate Kosobud (4-6-10), are a well-rounded group that contributes well at both ends of the ice. The Spuds' stout 97.6% penalty kill will undoubtedly be tested by Warroad's power play.

At goaltender, sophomore Taylor Kressin (1.71 goals against average, 1 shutout) has been Moorhead's workhorse all season.

Warroad has been on a break since its 5-1 victory over Holy Angels on December 10th. Will the Warriors look fresh and well-rested, or will they look rusty?

The Warriors are led by arguably the best line in the state in seniors Rylee Bartz (26-15-41), Kate Johnson (16-21-37), and Talya Hendrickson (8-25-33). It's no surprise the Warriors' power play is dangerous and lights the lamp at a 34.3% rate.

On defense, seniors Abby Chamernick (3-16-19) and Lexi Kirkeby (3-7-10), along with sophomore Katy Comstock (1-6-7), help keep Warroad on the attack. The penalty kill is not stellar at 76.9%, but when your team is scoring 7.45 goals per game, giving up a power play goal usually isn't that big of a deal.

The Warriors have split starts at goaltender between senior Kate Stephens (.918 save percentage, 2 shutouts) and freshman Jordyn Werk (.843 save percentage, 1 shutout) all season long.
