Mahtomedi at Stillwater (Dec. 20, 7:00 PM)

Carter Haycraft, Mahtomedi

Mahtomedi is coming off a 3-1 victory over Metro East rival South St. Paul. Offensively, the Zephyrs roll three solid scoring lines and may not have the star player that strikes fear into an opponent, but they will wear you down with their relentless attack.

At forward, seniors Charlie Drage (4 goals, 7 assists, 11 points), Carter Haycraft (5-4-9), Seth Nelson (5-4-9), and Jonny Grove (2-6-8) bring plenty of experience and poise up front.

On defense, senior Cav Bruner (2-4-6) leads a young defense corps that possesses a pair of giant-sized juniors in 6'3" junior Cole Swanson (2-7-9) and 6'7" Ryan Tarnowski (1-0-1).

Mahtomedi always plays strong team defense, but they have had some struggles on the penalty kill this season, as they've only managed to kill penalties at a 68.4% rate.

At goaltender, junior Charlie Brandt (.886 save percentage) and senior Andrew Reister (.971 save percentage) have been an effective tandem for the Zephyrs.

Stillwater is coming off an 8-3 victory over Suburban East rival East Ridge. The Ponies are led up front by senior Ty Tuccitto (6-2-8), along with sophomores Blake Vanek (3-5-8) and Brody Dustin (0-6-6), giving Stillwater a capable top line. Secondary scoring has been a bit of a work in progress for Head Coach Greg Zanon's squad so far.

On defense, senior Daniel Roeske (1-4-5) and juniors Wyatt Carroll (0-4-4) and Nathan Harvey (0-2-2) bring a mix of experience, grit, and mobility to the Ponies' blueline.

Senior goaltender Tomas Anderson (.915 save percentage) uses his 6'3", 225lbs frame effectively, giving opponents a small amount of available net.
