Eden Prairie at Wayzata (Dec. 21, 7:00 PM)

Dylan Vornwald, Eden Prairie

Eden Prairie is coming off a 5-1 loss to Lake conference arch-rival Edina.

The Eagles are led at forward by a trio of juniors in Teddy Townsend (Minnesota commit, 2-9-11), Connor Crowley (2-6-8), and Cole Saterdalen (4-2-6). Freshman Mason Moe (4-3-7) looks like a rising star for Eden Prairie.

On the blueline, juniors Tate Bloch (1-5-6), Dylan Vornwald (0-2-2), and Tommy Moen (0-1-1) keep it simple, but it's effective. The Eagles' penalty kill has been killing penalties at a 91.7% rate.

Junior Isaiah Paulnock (1.65 goals against average) will likely get the start against Wayzata.

Wayzata is coming off a 3-3 tie to Andover. This Trojans team features more flash and more scoring punch than what you've come to expect from Pat O'Leary's teams. Wayzata is led at forward by talented freshman Jacob Kvasnicka (2-9-11) and juniors Jake Mattson (4-4-8), Luke Miller (1-5-6), and Rhys Wallin (3-4-7). Senior Jibber Kuhl (6-1-7) is also off to a strong start.

On defense, the Trojans are led by senior Kasen Sauer (0-3-3), juniors Jack Hartle (0-2-2) and Hawke Huff (0-2-2, as well as sophomore Finn De St. Hubert (0-3-3), leave the scoring to the forwards but they are terrific at stifling opposing offenses.

Between the pipes, senior goaltender Will Ingemann has a .950 save percentage, and was recently interviewed by Youth Hockey Hub as part of their Rink of Fire Boys Hockey podcast last week.
