Chisago Lakes at Delano/Rockford (Jan. 5, 4:00 PM)

Here are two decent Class A schools hoping to make some noise as Section 4A Chisago Lakes battles Section 5A Delano/Rockford.

Chisago Lakes is coming off a 7-0 loss to Owatonna. The Wildcats are led at forward by freshman Ella Perreault (10-8-18), sophomore Lauren Schmidt (7-9-16), and eighth-grader Lexi Smothers (2-6-8). Sophomore Nora DeVries (6-5-11) and junior Brooke Klemz (5-5-10) split time at forward and defense for the Wildcats, but they are available to give Chisago Lakes a bit more offensive punch when needed.

On defense, seniors Laine DeVries (St. Thomas commit, 5-5-10) and Sydney Kerkow (1-3-4) carry most of the minutes for the Wildcats.

At goaltender, junior Breanna Ritter (.855 save percentage, 1 shutout) has been Chisago Lakes' starter throughout most of the season thus far.

Delano/Rockford is coming off a 4-2 loss to Dodge County. The Tigers are led up front by sophomore Kayleigh Olson (10-5-15), senior Ava Reierson (4-6-10), and junior Emma Treptau (3-4-7), who carry Delano/Rockford's attack. Scoring has been an uphill battle for the Tigers, as they average just 2.21 goals per game.

On defense, junior Meredith Duis (1-3-4), sophomore Ellie Chock (1-2-3), and freshman Ruby Danielson (0-3-3) help shut down opponents and limit quality scoring chances. Delano/Rockford's penalty kill has been a source of confidence, killing penalties at an 86.7% rate.

Junior goaltender Kayla Simonson (.950 save percentage, 5 shutouts) has been vital in keeping games close all season for the Tigers.
