Bemidji at St. Cloud (Jan. 17, 7:15 PM)

Andrew Cumming, St. Cloud

St. Cloud edged Bemidji 2-0 way back on November 26th. Can the Crush help their Section 8AA standing by sweeping the Lumberjacks?

Bemidji is feeling good after a 3-0 victory over Detroit Lakes. The Lumberjacks are led at forward by seniors Wyatt Mattfield (7-10-17) and Nick Yavarow (5-7-12), as well as sophomores Dominic Arndt (3-7-10) and Benjamin O'Leary (4-4-8). These four skaters set the tone for Bemidji's offense.

On defense, senior Casey Rupp (2-6-8) and Cael Knutson (6-2-8), as well as sophomore Nate Mannausau (2-8-10), chip in at both ends of the ice for Bemidji.

Bemidji has split starts between sophomore Tate Metcalf (2.07 goals against average, 2 shutouts) and junior Alex Schaefer (1.64 goals against average, 3 shutouts) this season.

St. Cloud is hoping to rebuild momentum after a 4-3 loss to Breck. They are led up front by seniors Andrew Cumming (8-3-11), Ben Einyck (4-2-6), and 6'3" Sheldon Shiyak (1-3-4), as well as sophomore Jackson Sheetz (2-1-3) drive St. Cloud's offense.

On defense, St. Cloud leans on seniors Ryan Behl (2-3-5) and Lukas O'Donnell (1-4-5), as well as junior Reece Gronseth (0-5-5). The trio keeps it simple but doesn't give up many scoring chances, either.

Junior Ben Glaesman (2.43 goals against average) has shouldered the majority of the goaltending workload for St. Cloud this season. Still, they have also utilized senior Ethan Quinn (1.91 goals against average).
