Nina Thorson, Duluth Marshall

This is the first of their two meetings this season as Duluth Marshall travels to Mars Lakeview Arena to take on Moose Lake Area in an intriguing Section 7A matchup. The Hilltoppers won 3-2 the last time these two clubs met on January 12th. Can Duluth Marshall earn a sweep?

Duluth Marshall is coming off a 6-1 rout of Hibbing/Chisholm and is riding a 3-game winning streak. The Hilltoppers are led at forward by junior Ilsa Lindaman (30-19-49), as well as seniors Meredith Boettcher (14-10-24) and Danica Mark (8-8-16) set most of the pace offensively for Duluth Marshall. Sophomore Nina Thorson (18-12-30) looks like a rising star.

Junior Eva Etter (0-6-6), sophomores Avery Lian (2-12-14) and Fianne Makela (0-6-6), as well as freshman Sarah Stauber (1-12-13), represent a young but improving defense corps for the Hilltoppers.

Sophomore Ray Anderson (1.53 goals against average, 5 shutouts) has carried most of the goaltending duties for Duluth Marshall this season.

Moose Lake Area is coming off a 5-1 victory over Hibbing/Chisholm. The Rebels are led up front by sophomore Sandra Ribich (10-15-25), and juniors Megan Hattenberger (6-14-20) and Gracie Hartl (8-9-17) lead a modest Moose Lake Area attack.

On defense, sophomore Hallie Klavu (10-5-15) and Kate Metzer (3-5-8) provide skill and a little offensive punch from the back end without ignoring their defensive responsibilities. Moose Lake Area's penalty kill is operating at a 92.1% rate.

Sophomore goaltender Mallory Hartl (.938 save percentage) has started in every game for Moose Lake Area this season.
