The second boys' high school hockey game on Hockey Day Minnesota features the classic Section 4AA rivalry between Hill-Murray and White Bear Lake. Can the Bears knock off the Pioneers on the big stage?

Hill-Murray is coming off a 4-1 victory over Grand Rapids. The Pioneers' forwards are led by senior captain Caden Sampair (3-4-7), juniors Simon Seidl (2-6-8) and Ryan Madigan (2-4-6), and sophomore Jackson Reeves (6-4-10) have struggled to find a groove this season. They are hopeful junior Brady Ingebritson (5-7-12) can return for Saturday's game.

On defense, juniors Joseph Lugar (1-4-5) and Seth Klepac (1-2-3), as well as sophomores Graham Greeder (1-8-9) and Landon Cottingham (3-4-7), help Hill-Murray transition from defense to offense quickly when they are playing well.

Senior goaltender Jack Erickson (.918 save percentage) has done what he can to keep games as low scoring as possible this season.

White Bear Lake is coming off a 3-0 victory over Grand Rapids and playing with the confident momentum of a 9-game winning streak. The Bears' attack is led by junior Nolan Roed (St. Cloud State commit, 18-17-35). A trio of seniors in Aiden Welch (13-20-33), Charlie Olsen (9-8-17), and Brady Borgestad (10-13-23) pace White Bear Lake's offense. Sophomore Jack Stanius (7-16-23) has emerged as a deft playmaker.

On defense, senior Grady Gallatin (3-9-12), junior Noah Driscoll (1-2-3), and sophomore Will Distad (2-4-6) like to hammer shots from the point but let the forwards carry most of the puck-moving duties.

White Bear Lake has given sophomore Leo Gabriel (2.16 goals against average) most of the goaltending duties this season, but they have utilized senior Colin Thompson (.915 save percentage) as well.
