Some great match ups in the semis Saturday. Alexandria takes on Spring Lake Park in the top half. Both are top 10 teams. Watch out for the two upstarts from the bottom half...Warroad and Detroit Lakes. Both have top end talent. Warroad only carries 10 skaters, but most of them dream of being the next TJ Oshie or Gigi Marvin, so be careful. Should be two great games. Was really impressed with Detroit Lakes, they are a great team with some great forwards and a really nice goalie Ben Boomgaarden. Also was impressed with Spring Lake Park's Blake Holm, he made some tremendous saves versus Northern Lakes. Alexandria looks like a PWAA team...they are fast, big and very talented. The Ben Doherty, Jack Westlund and Caleb Strong line is as good as any I've seen all year.

Hopkins, Armstrong, Sartell, and Orono all advance. Hopkins and Armstrong face off in a D3 battle for a big spot in Region Final. Sartell has not lost to a "A" team all year. They will get all they want from Orono who is loaded top to bottom. Two solid games in St. Cloud on Saturday. YHH says is feeling Royal Blue...Hopkins and Sartell advance to Sunday.

Mahtomedi, Virginia and Highland Central have been T10 teams this year. They all advance to the Semis. Virginia beat Alexandria so watch out for the Blue Devils. YHH says D2 rules the ice on Saturday..Mahtomedi and Highland win.

Farmington and Edina advance to semis. I had to take a double take to make sure I saw it right, Red Wing upsets D6 champion Prior Lake 2-1. Hastings beats Rochester, can they take down Edina? Farmington will take on Giant Killer, Red Wing at Graham Arena...YHH likes Farmington and Edina to meet in the finals. With the loser getting a nasty play in game with either Prior Lake or Red Wing.
