Hagen Burrows, Minnetonka

This may just be the game of the year in the always-tough Lake Conference as #1 ranked Minnetonka faces off against #7 Wayzata. Wayzata prevailed 3-1 on January 7th. Can the Trojans sweep the Skippers this season?

Minnetonka is coming off a 5-2 victory over Lakeville South. The Skippers are led at forward by juniors Alex Lunski (St. Thomas commit, 5-12-17), Sam Scheetz (Vermont commit, 8-11-19), Hagen Burrows (15-16-31), Gavin Garry (13-16-29), and Javon Moore (Minnesota commit, 7-17-24) give Minnetonka lots of offensive weapons to choose from. Sophomore Ashton Schultz (10-11-21) is a rising star.

On defense, seniors Liam Hupka (3-14-17) and Danny Pasqua (3-4-7), as well as junior John Stout (Minnesota-Duluth commit, 4-12-16), are experienced and skilled and do a decent job of shutting down opposing skaters. Minnetonka doesn't give up much defensively, only giving up an average of 1.16 goals per game.

Senior Kaizer Nelson (.930 save percentage, 4 shutouts) has shouldered most of the goaltending workload for Minnetonka this season.

Wayzata is coming off a 1-0 loss to Buffalo. The Trojans attack is led by juniors Jake Mattson (9-13-22), Rhys Wallin (9-15-24), Cade De St. Hubert (8-7-15), Brittan Alstead (3-14-17) and Luke Miller (5-12-17) as well as senior Jibber Kuhl (11-4-15) provide Wayzata decent scoring depth. Talented freshman Jacob Kvasnicka (8-22-30) is an outstanding playmaker.

On the blueline, senior Kasen Sauer (4-6-10) and Jacob White (1-6-7), as well as juniors Hawke Huff (2-8-10) and Jack Hartle (0-7-7), provide the sandpaper and strong stay-at-home presence that has become a Wayzata trademark.

Senior Will Ingemann (.942 save percentage, 3 shutouts) has carried most of the goaltending workload for Wayzata this season. Youth Hockey Hub recently interviewed Will Ingemann as part of their Rink of Fire podcast.
