Hastings at Park of Cottage Grove (Feb. 7, 7:30 PM)

This is an interesting matchup between Section 1AA Hastings and fellow southeast metro school in Section 3AA Park of Cottage Grove.

Hastings is coming off a 4-2 loss to Mounds View.

The Raiders' attack is led by senior Brody Larsen (10-6-16) and a trio of juniors including Mark DeNoyer (9-8-17), Connor Zgoda (8-5-13), and Blake Vandehoef (11-13-24) as well as playmaking sophomore Jon Harris (3-15-18) pace Hastings offense. Hastings' power play is dangerous, burying the biscuit at a 30.5% rate.

On defense, seniors Charles Williams (6-2-8) and Eddie Peine (3-13-16), as well as junior Sawyer Zaruba (1-5-6), like to get involved at both ends of the ice.

Senior Kody Niederkorn (.914 save percentage, 2 shutouts) carries most of the goaltending duties for Hastings, and with a no-look backhand save like this one, you can see why.

Park of Cottage Grove is coming off a 4-1 victory over East Ridge and is currently riding a four-game win streak.

The Wolfpack are led up front by seniors Colton Porter (8-7-15), Tyler Schwartz (11-10-21), and Adam King (8-3-11). A trio of talented sophomores in Jackson Rudh (20-30-50), Owen Corkish (14-25-39), and Gavin Moss (21-18-39) give Park of Cottage Grove two dangerous scoring lines and a big reason they have 30.1% power play.

On defense, senior Brendan Bloedel (2-7-9), junior Adam Friemann (1-8-9), and sophomore Caden Schwartz (1-5-6) don't try to do too much and instead focus on working up pucks to their dynamic forwards to do most of the work in the offensive zone.

Senior Alex Harden (.854 save percentage, 1 shutout) has been used the most this season, but Park of Cottage Grove has utilized sophomore Aiden Miller (.936 save percentage) too.
