Bagle/Fosston at Kittson Country Central (Feb. 14, 6:00 PM)

The top seed in Section 8A is going to be pretty tough to wrestle away from Warroad, but the section is full of teams that could make seeding a bit interesting as they scratch and claw for spots. Bagley/Fosston won 6-3 the first time these two teams met on January 5th. Can the Flyers earn a sweep over the Bearcats?

Bagley/Fosston is coming off an 8-1 demolition of Prairie Centre and are currently riding a five-game win streak. The Flyers are led at forward by the senior duo of Markus Olson (35 goals, 44 assists, 79 points) and Breckin Levin (37-38-75), who shoulder most of the scoring load up front for Bagley/Fosston. Seniors Landen Leavitt (8-2-10) and Eric Gerbracht (4-2-6) provide some secondary offense for the Flyers. Bagley/Fosston is dangerous on the power play, converting 30.3% of their chances.

On defense, seniors Quinten Friborg (22-21-43), Casey Hansen (5-14-19), Beau Gunderson (1-8-9), and Isaac Schermerhorn (3-13-16) bring experience and the ability to get involved offensively from the back end for Bagley/Fosston.

Senior Kassandra Fontaine (.878 save percentage, 3 shutouts) has shouldered most of the goaltending duties for Bagley/Fosston. Still, the Flyers have utilized sophomore Kyle Johnson (.908 save percentage) as well.

Kittson County Central is coming off a 7-2 rout of Park Rapids. The Bearcats are led up front by the high-powered senior duo of Tyler Hennan (Augustana commit, 68-49-117) and Hayden Olsonawski (39-37-76). Sophomore Isaac Gustafson (2-7-9), as well as juniors Elijah Swanson (3-6-9) and Dana Brown (4-10-14), provide secondary scoring for Kittson County Central.

Recently, Tyler Hennen joined the Youth Hockey Hub Rink of Fire podcast to chat about the Bearcats' season.

On defense, seniors Ethan Hanson (7-23-30) and Timothy Johnson (0-5-5), as well as freshman Gavin Johnson (4-8-12), log a lot of minutes for the Bearcats. They will be tasked in trying to slow down the Flyers' dynamic duo.

Sophomore Jameson Turner (.890 save percentage) has had most of the success between the pipes for Kittson County Central, but they might give an opportunity to junior Isaac Lindegard (.859 save percentage) too.
