Andover at Centennial (Feb. 16, 7:00 PM)

Cooper Conway, Andover

This is a Northwest Suburban Conference collision as two teams hope to prime themselves for the section playoffs even though they play in different ones, with Andover in 7AA and Centennial in Section 5AA.

The Huskies prevailed 4-1 the last time these two clubs faced one another. Can the Cougars avoid the sweep?

Andover is coming off a 3-2 loss to Maple Grove. The Huskies' are led up front by the talented senior trio of Gavyn Thoreson (St. Cloud State commit, 32-38-70), Cooper Conway (Colorado College, #159 NHL Central Scouting ranking, 32-35-67), and Cayden Casey (St. Lawrence commit, #195 NHL Central Scouting ranking, 18-43-61) to carry Andover offensively. Andover's 29.2% power play has steadily been improving throughout the season, a bad sign for opponents.

On defense, senior Tristen May-Robinson (5-15-20), as well as juniors Landon Stringfellow (4-7-11) and Caiden Belisle (2-4-6), have demonstrated steady improvement after a slow start.

Senior Beau Altman (.923 save percentage, 3 shutouts) has carried most of the goaltending workload, but they have given some opportunities to sophomore Cal Conway (.929 save percentage, 2 shutouts) as well.

Centennial is coming off a 6-4 loss to Rosemount. The Cougars are led at forward by junior Harper Searles (19-45-64) as well as seniors Peyton Blair (33-27-60), Drake Ramirez (18-23-41), and Brock Carls (13-15-28). Centennial's power play is very dangerous at 42.9%.

On defense, seniors Sam Menne (2-24-26) and Hayden Frank (2-8-10), as well as junior Austin Petersen (6-15-21), keep it simple in Centennial's zone and do a decent job of helping the Cougars transition quickly from defense to offense.

Junior Gavin Schahn (.874 save percentage, 2 shutouts) has carried most of the goaltending workload for the Cougars, but Centennial has given some opportunities to sophomore Easton Cody (.910 save percentage, 3 shutouts) as well.
