With the departure of Blake for Class 2A and Breck in the midst of a down season, the Class 1A field is wide open. Red Wing sits in the top spot despite suffering its first loss of the season on Nov. 30, a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Northfield.
Despite a 2-5-1 record, aforementioned Breck still finds a spot in the rankings due to the level of competition its played. Three of the Mustangs' losses have come against ranked Class 2A teams in Centennial, Maple Grove, and Hill-Murray. The Mustangs also fell to No. 2-1A Warroad.
