Semifinal Matchups Set Entering Sunday
Sunday morning will feature the top four teams from the 12A Division squaring off in semifinal matchups.
Edina Green will face Orono-Westonka, as the Hornets slammed the door on Centennial 3-0 and Eden Prairie 2-0 on Saturday to earn a place in the semifinal round. Orono-Westonka defeated Prior Lake 4-1 and was edged by Andover 2-1.
Battling for a slot in the championship on the other side of the bracket will be Andover and Fargo (ND). Andover defeated Apple Valley/Burnsville 6-1 and snuck past Orono-Westonka in the aforementioned 2-1 win. The Huskies have outscored opponents 17-3 so far, and feature the tournament's leading scorer in Isa Goettl. Goettl has racked up five goals and 11 points, ahead of only Josie Hemp, her Husky teammate who's totaled five goals and nine points.
Fargo has yet to suffer a loss in the tournament, tying Edina and Eden Prairie with identical 1-1 scores and earning a 4-1 win over Centennial on Saturday.
