Class AA Notes

Hill-Murray jumps from No. 10 to No. 6 after a 5-4 win over previously top-ranked Blake, with Joslynn Olson scoring the game-winning goal in overtime. The Pioneers have come on strong recently, with quality wins in back-to-back games against Elk River/Zimmerman and the Bears.

North Wright County replaces Roseau due in part to Roseau's loss to Warroad, and the Rams' eking out a 3-2 win over a Hibbing/Chisholm team that had lost five consecutive games entering the contest and still holds a sub-.500 record.

Leading scorer Brooke Remington and the Forest Lake Rangers take over as No. 1 in Class 2A after Blake's loss to Hill-Murray.

Class A Notes

Duluth Marshall enters the rankings for the first time this season, replacing Cloquet-Esko-Carlton after scoring a win over the Lumberjacks last Thursday. The Hilltoppers have rebounded after losing four straight games in late December with five consecutive wins. Four of the team's six losses have been by a single goal.

Thief River Falls remains at No. 4 despite suffering a loss to No. 7-2A Brainerd/Little Falls, while Mound-Westonka draws 2-2 with New Prague. Despite being one of two undefeated teams in the state, the Whitehawks drop slightly due to the strength-of-schedule of Proctor-Hermantown and the Prowlers.
