12 A Notes

There are four or five great 12A teams in Minnesota. Besides Orono Westonka, all have had a stay at #1 this year. Sometimes we throw caution to the wind when ranking teams. This week, we may have gotten carried away moving Andover from #5 to #1. But if you pull back the onion, you will find a very young team with very talented forwards, a talented defenseman in Cailin Mumm and a great goalie (Layla Hemp). At this point in the season, the Huskies might be the best team after finally beating Stillwater in a champ game (after losing twice to the Ponies).

This week the top 4 teams stay the same, with Proctor Hermantown (White), Hutchinson, Buffalo (Black) and River Lakes. Spots 5-10 all change drastically this week. Woodbury (Blue) hops up two spots up to number five, they lose to a tough Minnetonka team that is right on the bubble, the Predators move up as other teams in top 10 lose. Grand Rapids/ Greenway (Black) is new to the rankings this week at number six, they are currently on a seveb game win streak and are one win off of 20. Elk River closes the rankings out at number ten, they are having a very solid year.
