Hannah Skavnak of Rogers Bantam A is verbally committed to Minnesota State.

Dodge County vs. Osseo-Maple Grove

Dodge County thumped Waseca 19-1 on March 3rd, and the Wildcats have not lost since Jan. 18. That span includes 19 wins and a tie in 20 games. Over the course of the season, the Wildcats have outscored their opponents 372-151.

With 64 games played this season, Osseo-Maple Grove is one of the most battle-tested teams in the tournament. Three of the Leafbirds’ losses came against Bantam AA teams, and the Leafbirds scrapped their way to state with a 2-1 overtime win over a talented Mounds View-Irondale squad.

Rogers vs. Alexandria

Armed with Minnesota State verbal commit Hannah Skavnak in goal, Rogers could make a serious run at this year’s state tournament. The Royals enter the weekend at 51-7-1, including 20 wins in their last 21 games.

Alexandria has won nine of its last 10 games, including back-to-back shutouts of Monticello-Annandale-Maple Lake. Both of the Cardinals’ most recent losses have come against a quality East Grant Forks team.

Delano vs. Edina

With eight straight wins, Delano has been rolling since a 2-1 loss to Osseo-Maple Grove on Feb. 4. All seven of the losses suffered this year by the Tigers have been by two goals or less. Meeting Delano in the quarterfinal round will be perennial Bantam A power Edina, which has won six of its last seven games. The Hornets are 2-5 against tournament teams, including a 3-1 loss to Delano on Dec. 23.

Warroad vs. Duluth Denfeld

Warroad is 9-2 in its last 11 games, with both losses coming against Bantam AA State Tournament participant Moorhead. The Warriors have outscored their opponents by nearly 200 goals, with an overall season score of 293-95.

Five of Duluth Denfeld’s nine losses have come against Bantam AA teams, indicate of the loaded schedule the Hunters have played this year. The other four losses among the Hunters’ record of 42-9-1 came against Bantam A teams playing in the state tournament this weekend.
