Alexandria vs. Wayzata Blue
Alexandria has won seven of its last eight games and has not lost a game by more than two goals since a 5-2 loss to Centennial on Dec. 9. The Cardinals have an overall record of 24-7-6 this season.
Wayzata Blue has won 17 of its last 20 games, going 17-2-1 in that span, and the Trojans have outscored their opposition by a two-to-one margin this season, with 185 goals for and 92 goals-against.
Edina Green vs. Andover
Familiar foes from their time as 12A players, Edina Green and Andover will battle head-to-head in the quarterfinal round, with the Hornets riding a 12-game winning streak. The Hornets have posted seven shutouts in that span.
The Hornets have allowed just 31 goals in 40 games, with a goals-against average of 0.78. Andover has won five of its last six games and has yet to face the Hornets yet this season.
Eagan vs. Proctor-Hermantown
Following a 2-4-1 stretch in early February, Eagan rattled off three straight wins entering the state tournament, defeating North Wright County, Andover, and Anoka in that span. Six of the Wildcats’ 11 losses have been by a single goal.
Winners of four of its last six, Proctor-Hermantown begins the state tournament with a record of 25-10-4 while outscoring opponents 140-64. The Mirage was shutout in four of its 10 losses.
Anoka-Rogers-Elk River vs. Minnetonka Black
The co-op of Anoka-Rogers-Elk River has battled its way to record of 30-19-4 this season, outscoring opponents 170-127 in the process. A-R-ER lost to Minnetonka Black 4-2 earlier in the season.
In its last 12 games, Minnetonka Black is 10-2, with the lone losses during that time coming against Coon Rapids-Champlin Park and Edina Green by scores of 3-2 and 4-1 respectively. The Skippers have outscored their opponents by exactly 100 goals this season (153-53).
