The game was a tale of two halves, MVI won the first half and was ahead and in control until late in second period. The Hornets popped in two late goals - one on a long wrister by Ben Dietzen and anoter on a deflected shot by Quentin Schaefer and never looked back in the third period.

NOTES

A very even game, back and forth. Warroad found a way to find nylon when given chances. Ben Norris was stellar in the net for the Warriors, stopping all kinds of great chances by the Royals. The defending state champs head to the semis on Saturday.

Ben Norris added to his hat collection Friday scoring three goals for the Spartans in the win.

NOTES

Orono gets four goals from Ben Norris and pulls away to a 7-4 win over CC. The story of the game was the Spartans ability to respond quickly to CC goals. Orono scored immediately after each of CC's first three goals (:27, :04, :03) to put a dagger into any CC momentum. Orono gets Edina in the semis on Saturday.

EGF came in waves (pun intended) on Friday, with three lines of speed and puck movement.  Brock Schultz had two goals, but more important controlled play with puck possession while on the ice. East Side Hockey will face Orono on Saturday. The two teams faced off in November, EGF won that game.
