Game Notes

Through two periods, Edina's strategy of tight defense worked well, with A.J. Doll spotting the Hornets a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. However, Blake Markwell knotted the game at 1-1 less than four minutes into the third, sparking a scoring outburst for the Stormhawks. Gracyn Sawchyn put the Stormhawks ahead 2-1, with goals from Max Burkholder and Jimmy Snuggerud following for a 4-1 final. Snuggerud's goal came on an empty Edina net, where the forward fired a shot from below his own face-off dot that found the center of the Hornet net to cement the win for the Stormhawks.  

Semifinal 2: Osseo-Maple Grove > Wayzata (6-1)

Game Notes

Landen Gunderson scored 19 seconds into the first period for Osseo-Maple Grove, and from there the game spiraled, with the Leafbirds tacking on five more scores and Wayzata punching in one late goal. Ethan Sillerud screed twice for the Leafbirds, with single goals coming from Josh Giuliani, Luke Margeneau, and Aiden McMahon in addition to Gunderson. Gavin O'Connell scored the lone goal of the loss for Wayzata.
