Brielle Newton scored in the first and second periods to give Mankato a 2-0 lead over Woodbury Royal, and Mankato was able to hold off a late charge by the Predators to escape with a 3-1 victory. Payten Olson pulled Woodbury within one by scoring in the second period to make the score 2-1, but Kalea Homich answered in the same stanza to seal the win for Mankato.
